Molecular level insights into the natural or previously engineered protein cages lay the groundwork for further expanding the possibility in compartment design. We are revealing yet not fully understood the mechanism of naturally occurring guest packaging as well as unusual self-assemblies of protein cages using cryoEM single particle/helical reconstruction technology. Our lab is situated close to the National Center for Synchrotron Radiation, where the
National CryoEM Center with a cutting edge instruments, Titan Krios and Glacios, has been established and fully operational. We also established our own computational workstation and data storage server, facilitating data analysis for solving high-resolution structures.
