HOW TO APPLY FOR A PHD POSITION IN THE AZUMA GROUP
Guide for the application
In order to start your PhD student life in the Azuma group, you must send your application to two different organization units: (1) Doctoral school organized by the Jagiellonian University for your position and (2) Scholarship supported by the National Science Center (NCN) for your financial support. Note that selection processes in these units are independent.
(1) How to apply for the doctoral school
Please read the official announcement for the details. When browsing the official announcement website, please unroll the panel with the project manager's name, Yusuke Azuma, to find out what documents are required for the application to the PhD school. Here, we briefly summarize the process in English.
The required documents:
Letter of recommendation from a person who holds a postdoctoral degree, professorship or equivalent academic title
Curriculum vitae including lists of your scientific achievements (e.g. publication, presentation, award, training course, etc.)
Contacts of references who hold a postdoctoral degree, professorship or equivalent academic title (title, name, affiliation, number, e-mail, etc.)
Documents confirming your scientific achievements (e.g. cover of your publication, index of conferences, etc.)*
* If these documents are written in neither English nor Polish, please provide the originals together with their sworn translation to English or Polish.

The current competition schedule is as follows:
Start of registration: 08.07 2020
End of registration: 20.07.2020, 12:00
Entrance exams: 23-24.07.2020
Announcement of the results: 29.07.2020
Entries: 1-15.09.2020
(2) How to apply for the scholarship
Please read the official announcement for the details.
Required documents:
A. Motivation letter including why you are interested in joining our group
B. Curriculum vitae including lists of your scientific achievements (e.g. publication, presentation, award, training course, etc.)
C. Contact details of two referees including a former supervisor
D. Signed agreement for processing personal data (Format download, English/Polish).

Timeline:
Competition start date: 16.06.2020
Applications deadline: 17.07.2020 (noon)
Decision of the competition shall be made by 30.07.2020
The project starting date: 01.10.2020
